We understand that students have different needs and learn in different ways which is why the Primary years at BVIS are considered a formative time, where children develop their personalities, learn life skills, and grow their creativity and intellect.  

At BVIS HCMC, we consider ourselves to be a learning focused school, disciplined yet fun, aiming to provide the skills, knowledge and understanding for our pupils to become successful life-long learners. To do this, we define what good learning looks like, how we achieve it and for what purpose. We ensure that this is shared with the whole school community.  

Our Primary school offers a unique international bilingual education which combines the National Curriculum of England and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) with the learning context of Vietnam. 

 Literacy and Maths are regarded as core subjects and receive the largest time allocation from the class teachers. Some subjects are taught across both languages of English and Vietnamese to ensure students acquire academic knowledge, skills and understanding whilst learning in a Vietnamese and international context. 

The International Primary Curriculum or “Lien Ket” (Art, History, Geography) are taught through thematic studies delivered in both languages. Lien Ket lessons combining English and Vietnamese via the same teaching method help the children to become adept at switching between the two languages. This method supports their development as multitasking communicators. In the same thematic unit of learning, students are able to carry out research in both English and Vietnamese to gain deeper knowledge and understanding of the topic.

BVIS’ interactive layout promotes purposeful collaboration between students and staff, fostering openness and respect for different cultures, while accelerating language acquisision in English and Vietnamese. Our learning environment constantly challenges students to think independently and creatively, cultivating active and agile learners who can flourish in any environment. 

We hand-select teachers with a strong background in British education and a track record of inspiring children to succeed, so that your child receives the best possible educational opportunities. All of our educators, international and Vietnamese, have teaching qualifications from leading educational insitutitions and undergo professional development in Vietnam and abroad.  Our Vietnamese and international teachers collaborate closely in shared planning and cross-language topics to accelerate language acquisition in both English and Vietnamese for our students.
